Our DNA & values

This is what we believe in

Every organization has a core that dictates the direction of its development and functioning. At IFGF, we call it our DNA which is the reflection of our core values.

Covenant

Through his son Jesus Christ, God has made an everlasting covenant with his church. Therefore, we are compelled to be committed to one another – as partners together to forge authentic relationships that are ever expanding and prospering under the apostolic leadership.

Great Commission

Not only has God reconciled us back into right relationship with him, but he has also given us the amazing privilege to partner with him as he draws all people to himself. As Christ’s ambassadors we live to be a witness on earth by setting an example through our lifestyle. We are raising up a generation of believers, cultivating potentials, and improving the lives of all people through the power of the gospel.

Compassion

We love because Christ first loved us. We express this love together by serving our community with love, grace and generosity – becoming a channel of blessing to one another.

Cutting Edge

Through the power of his grace and Holy Spirit, God has enabled us to be a progressive church that is relevant in ministry, engaged with society, and innovative in function. We invest in training apprentices to become next generation leaders for our church and community.

Champion

Over the years it has become our sincere conviction that in Christ we are victorious. Since the beginning of creation, God has empowered us to have dominion over the earth. He has given us the power to impact the lives of others and be an agent of hope and purpose.

Doctrine

What we believe

  1. We believe the Bible (Old and New Testaments) is inspired by the Holy Spirit and is fully authoritative as originally given. (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13)
  2. We believe in one eternal God, revealed as three distinct but inseparable persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:13)
  3. We believe in the creation, temptation and fall of the first man as recorded in Genesis, and in his spiritual death and inability to attain divine righteousness. (Genesis 3:1-19; Romans 5:12,18)
  4. We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as fully God and fully man, the Savior of mankind, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. (John 1:1,14; Matthew 1:18-21; Luke 1:26-35, 2:10-11; Isaiah 7:14)
  5. We believe that Jesus Christ died for the sins of mankind, was buried, rose again on the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples. (1 Corinthians 15:14; John 20:19,26; 21:1; Romans 4:25)
  6. We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus into heaven, His glory, and His personal, bodily return for His church. (John 14:2-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
  7. We believe sinners are saved by God's grace through repentance and faith in the perfect work of Jesus Christ at Calvary, through which we also receive forgiveness of our sins. (Romans 5:11; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12)
  8. We believe in water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, in obedience to Christ's command. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:34-36; 19:1-6)
  9. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an essential experience after salvation, with the biblical evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. (Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; Galatians 3:14-15)
  10. We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and their operation as described in 1 Corinthians 12-14, as experienced by the early church.
  11. We believe in a Spirit-filled life, set apart from worldliness and lived in holiness and the fear of God as an expression of Christian faith. (2 Corinthians 6:14; 7:1; Ephesians 5:18)
  12. We believe in divine healing of body and mind, worked by the power of God in various ways, as in the early church. (Mark 16:17-18; Acts 4:30; Romans 8:11; 1 Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14)
  13. We believe in the Lord's Table, commonly called Holy Communion, for believers. (1 Corinthians 11:28-32)
  14. We believe in eternal life for every believer. (John 5:24; 5:16) We also believe in eternal punishment for every unbeliever. (Mark 9:43-58; 2 Thessalonians 1:9; Revelation 20:10-15)
  15. We believe in the existence and work of Satan, and in the eternal punishment of Satan and his angels. (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10-15)
